The AFH building inspection checklist, in plain English.

Book before the freeze

Don't let a worn deck go into winter.

Decks, ramps, and entry steps are how residents, families, and emergency crews get in and out. Wet Northwest winters turn small problems into slippery, unsafe ones.

  • Soft or cracked boards replaced before they fail.
  • Loose railings and handrails secured and reinforced.
  • Slick surfaces cleaned, sealed, and given better traction.
  • Ramps and steps repaired so every resident can get in and out safely.
  • Winter prep: gutters, weatherstripping, caulking, and exterior touch-ups.

Room Turnovers

Turn a room around between residents.

An empty room is lost income. Let's get it ready fast.

When a resident moves out, we refresh the room so it's ready for tours and the next move-in: fresh paint, hard-surface flooring, door and trim repairs, patched walls, and updated fixtures, often in a single day.

A clean, fresh room tells families their loved one will be cared for.

Refresh the room. Fill the bed. Keep the home running.

Questions

Good to know.

Can you work while residents are home?

Yes. Most of our work happens with residents in the home. We work one area at a time, keep work zones contained and clean, and plan around meals, rest, and care routines.

Can a room really be done in one day?

Many paint and flooring refreshes on a single bedroom are finished in a day. Larger rooms, repairs, or multiple rooms may take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline with your quote.

Do you work on inspection items?

Yes. Send us your inspection notes or your own list and we'll quote and schedule each item. Your licensor sets the requirements; we handle the repairs and improvements.

Why hard-surface flooring in bedrooms?

Hard-surface floors are easier to clean and keep sanitary, hold up to daily use, and are smoother for walkers and wheelchairs than carpet.

Why fix the deck now instead of spring?

Rain, moss, and freezing temperatures make worn boards and loose railings more dangerous. Fixing them before winter keeps entries safe for residents, staff, visitors, and emergency crews.

How do I get a quote?
